New Pews and an Altar Rail for a Catholic Chapel
Church Furniture
St. Joseph Oratory Furnishings – La Salette Boys Academy – Georgetown, Illinois
Delivered: 12-7-12
The situation:
A tiny oratory is in need of increased seating capacity an altar rail and a kneeler for the front pew.
The problems:
Very limited space for furnishings.
The solutions:
- The client requested an altar rail that could double as the kneeler for the front pew. This conserved a lot of space but by itself was not enough.
- The pews feature a new type of folding kneeler action that permit 36″ row spacing without cramping the worshipers. The age-old problem of kneelers being kicked over by tall worshipers as they return to their pews for after Communion prayers is eliminated.
Conclusion:
The seating requirements of the client were met. Despite using minimal 36″ row spacing, even tall people are able to sit and kneel without feeling cramped.
